June 6: Virtual Talk with Rizwaan Abbas, “Indian Indenture (Girmit) and Canadian Violence in Colonial Fiji”

On June 6, 2025, Rizwaan Abbas and I will be giving a virtual talk to the members of the Groupe d'histoire de Montréal / Montreal History Group. We will review the history of Girmit and Rogers Sugar in Fiji, and suggest that this history requires greater attention from scholars and the public.
